Can you believe that January is over tomorrow? Time is really flying by! January really was a great month & I feel like I got so much accomplished! I tracked every single day, I had a to do list & followed it and also got some rooms decluttered as well as paying off a target card.
This month brings some different goals
Grocery - I am going to take it back to $275
Misc - I am increasing to $140 (the shaving of $25 above will help make up for the increase of misc) This month DD has a birthday party, bookfair at school & valentine's day - that is why I have increased a bit.
Other things I will work on -
~ CASH ONLY
~ GYM
~ DECLUTTERING
~ READING
~ FAMILY TIME
February will also bring a Income Tax Return Check - we haven't gotten all of our information yet, so I can't say for sure how much we will get back. I am thinking maybe $2,000? That money is going to go right to a savings account to be used towards (hopefully) a new furnace & air - once we get around $4,000 in there, I will start to call around to see if we can get some people in to give us quotes. It really really really bums me out that we have to use that kind of money to do that & not pay off a credit card, but we MUST get that done before we can put the house on the market. We are also thinking that the roof may have to wait until next spring - or maybe in the fall of this year - we have to do one at a time for now. (DH transfer is still looking like it is in spring/summer 2013) Which is actually okay with us - there is still work to be done at his plant & they are running some OT lately because some of the employees have already begun to transfer out. That can really benefit us at this point!
This week seems to be pretty low key
Monday - Gym - cleaning house - decorate office at dd school for v-day
Tuesday - Gym - possible calling hours for a friend's step father
Wednesday - PTA Council Meeting & School Activity ~ maybe gym in the afternoon
Thursday - DD dentist, helping with bookfair paperwork to get out & scout meeting ~ maybe gym in afternoon
Friday - Gym - cleaning up house - Dinner at SIL house
Saturday - DD has a birthday party to go to
Lets keep it cheap ;) Have a great week!

We have to get our roof done and we are probably going to use our refund o do it.
Good luck with your goals this month.Especially the grocery one, but you guys always seem to do well with that.
Sorry that your refund has to go to the furnace. At least it'll be paid for. It's not always easy to keep that in mind. Ha!
It must be book fair week at all schools! I actually find the prices to be cheaper. I plan on stocking up for M's birthday,Easter,Christmas and just because. :)
Good luck! Your doing great!
I agree, it sucks to receive money that's not scheduled and not having the liberty of choosing where it goes. At least you are prioritizing, and instead of charging the amount for the furnace, you wont have to worry about it! I think that does qualify as a win.
I agree that using the refund to do the furnace will benefit you in the long run. . . even if it's not the most fun way to spend the money. Good luck on your week ahead!
Bummer about the furnance but yay for being able to not put that on a credit card! You've come a long way JP!
Those big things CAN only be done one at a time and at least you're not going into debt to get them done AND it'll all pay off when you go to sell the house:)
January just flew by! You're right! It's great that you'll have the extra $$ to put towards your furnace! Have a great week! :)
You had such a great month! Maybe you will get a little more than the $2,000.00 and use it where you would like. We too are saving for a new heat/air unit but we will have to buy 2, one each for upstaires and down. I am holding off until the old ones kick the bucket!! Have a great week
Good luck with your goals this month jp. Bummer about the furnace!
